About
I am an environmental engineer and an author. However, before I was a consultant engineer I worked the land as a child; before I was a published author I was a blacksmith's assistant as a teenager; and before Muscat there was a small village in southern Syria, where I was born and raised.
I am currently writing The Trilogy of Mind, a three-volume project about the brain we inherited from the wild: how it is faring in the digital age, how that same brain keeps adapting to the modern world, and how we might prepare it for what comes next. The volumes draw heavily on history, neuroscience, and psychology.
To be transparent: my qualifications are a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering and an M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering, with a peer-reviewed publication in environmental research — but no formal academic training in history, neuroscience, or psychology. Claims in the trilogy that fall within those fields are grounded in the work of specialist researchers and established evidence. Where an interpretation extends beyond direct empirical findings, framed clearly as such.
